We are proud to announce our BEER CELLAR, a selection of unique and uncommon specialty, hand-bottled brews that are made at the SOUTHAMPTON PUBLICK HOUSE. These brews are available for purchase at our front desk.

Our selections will change throughout the year, as new brews become available. Quantities are limited!

WE CURRENTLY HAVE AVAILABLE...

Pumpkin Ale
SOUTHAMPTON PUMPKIN ALE is unique brew that has particular appeal during the autumn months and the holidays of Halloween and Thanksgiving. Pumpkin ales have their origins in the colonial days of America when malted barley was not always available in sufficient quantities to brewers. In those days, resourceful brewers would seek out a secondary source of starch (mainly pumpkins) as a substitute for barley malt. The pumpkin would contribute some fermentable sugars as well as a distinct flavor. We use a generous amount of pumpkin as well as traditional "pumpkin pie" spices to give this unusual brew a definite seasonal character.

Russian Imperial Stout
IMPERIAL RUSSIAN STOUT is a strong version of English Stout, which was called “Imperial” because this type of strong brew was exported to the Czar's court in imperial Russia by the British in the 1800's. IMPERIAL RUSSIAN STOUT is rich and strong with an flavor notes of chocolate, coffee and caramel in addition to the warming effect of the higher alcohol content.

IMPERIAL RUSSIAN STOUT is brewed with 8 different malts to give it a great complexity of flavor. It’s chocolate and toffee flavors, and its alcohol strength make it ideal dessert beer.

Biere de Garde
A unique amber ale inspired by those brewed by small farmhouse breweries in the Pas-de-Calais region of France. Biere de Garde translates to "beer for storing", a reference to its tendency for long term aging due to its alcohol strength.

Southampton Biere de Garde has a spicy malt flavor accented by a mild herbal character of imported French hops. The higher alcohol content is perceptible in the flavor and as a "warming" in the finish.

Double White
 2003 Real Ale Festival
Light in color with a refreshing orangey tartness and a hint of coriander flavor. There is also a detectable alcohol "warming" that is balanced by a pleasant residual sweetness.

Southampton Triple
Our latest seasonal brew is patterned after the strong golden ale that is brewed by Trappist monks in Belgium. This golden ale is surprisingly smooth and drinkable for a brew that weighs in at 8% alcohol. "Triple" dry-hopped using three Continental varieties for a truly unique character.
